Mushrooms against cancer

Mycotherapy, a new method in the World, and otherwise thousands of years old, uses mushrooms and the active substances from them in the treatment of various diseases, including malignant ones. It is a specific type of immunotherapy.

Apart from being gladly seen on the tables in Eastern and other world cuisines, mushrooms are increasingly mentioned as a medicine. Mycotherapy is increasingly being used in combination with other therapies to maintain or improve the quality of life of people with cancer, especially lung cancer.

The latest discoveries were presented recently in China at the fifth international conference on medicinal mushrooms, which gathered almost a thousand scientists from over 30 countries around the world. At that gathering, the results of the practical application of medicinal mushroom preparations in the treatment of lung cancer were presented.

Maitake

Maitake (Grifola frondosa) has been used in Japan and China for over 3000 years. It used to be a substitute for money in Japan, valuable as silver. It lowers blood pressure and cancer cells. Maitake extract can prevent tumor growth and stimulate the body’s defenses. The effect on breast and colon tumors is most often examined. In China, the effects of lung, stomach and liver cancer have been tested and a good effect has been confirmed. For people with non-insulin dependent diabetes, maitake is used to reduce insulin resistance.

Reishi

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) The Chinese have been used in medicine for over 4000 years to treat liver disease, high blood pressure, arthritis … They lower the level of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. They are known as immunostimulants. They are also useful for bacterial and viral infections, against bad cholesterol and triglycerides. They have anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antioxidant effects.

Shitake

Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) was used in the Chinese Ming dynasty to increase energy and treat parasites. It is effective in the fight against tumors and for strengthening the immune system. It contains Lentinan beta-1,3-glucan, which is used in Japan as a drug in the treatment of cancer. It has been proven that shiitake has antitumor, anticholesterolemic, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, vitamin active … It is used for tablets, capsules, teas …

Mushrooms have been shown to slow down the tumor

It has been proven that substances from some mushrooms can strongly inhibit tumor growth, reduce the size of the tumor, and even in some cases are the cause of its complete withdrawal. Results are faster and easier to achieve in combination with chemotherapy and radiation, but they are possible even independently of them. The application of massive doses of mushroom preparations significantly improved the general condition of the patient, but also facilitated the submission of chemotherapy.

Reishi mushrooms are useful in bacterial and viral infections, against bad cholesterol and triglycerides.
