Hormones and middle age

Advances in medicine, science and technology have significantly affected the longevity of women.

In ancient Rome, women lived very short – on average only 23 years, so they did not even reach menopause – the end of the reproductive period, which brings many changes in a woman’s body and lifestyle.

However, things have changed drastically. Human life is being extended from year to year. However, the biological clock of the human body does not change its work. This means that both women and men around the age of 40 have a drop in sex hormones, so that the biggest changes occur around the age of 50. This results in changes and potential diseases.
